With regret, we've had to turn off the automated website creation system because we've had a few instances of it being used to create undesirable websites. (With absolutely no connection to Millport, of course.) We still want to offer the free hosting service for Millport-related websites but we don't want any further abuse of an automated system so we've removed it and ask anyone interested to contact us using the contact page.

Probably you! Provided that your website has a connection with Cumbrae, you can register for free webspace at millport.org.uk. You might belong to a club and want to create a club website with information for members and prospective members. You might run a business and want to get your business information online. You might live in Millport and want a personal website. Or you might just be interested in learning how to create a website. Your website will have a URL like this...

How it works...

Very easily! You get in touch using the contact page and we'll give you more details.

The technical stuff...

No advertising! Your website will NOT be forced to carry advertising of any sort: no banners, no popup windows, no advertising frames. Your website will look exactly the way you design it to look.

Webspace! Your website limit is 2000K (or 2MB). That may seem stingy at first, but you'd be surprised what can be done with that space. Most of the small business websites on the Internet are less than 500K in size. That's a fact.

Restrictions! You cannot upload perl scripts or php pages. This is a security precaution.

Rules and regulations...

Just common sense! You must not upload anything that is illegal, indecent, or not yours. Don't steal graphics from other websites and try to pass them off as your own; respect the copyright of material that other people have published on the web or elsewhere.
