Country & Western Festival

Millport hosted its 13th Country and Western Weekend in 2007, which may be an unlucky number but not for those who attended as the whole weekend was FREE!!

Running from 31st August - 2nd September 2007, the weekend consisted of live bands, line dancing, a massive street parade, bucking bronco, shootouts and much much more! The main venue was the town hall which over the weekend was known as 'Cactus Jacks' and there were live bands including Carson City, Greyhound Express, Toe the Line, Red Canyon and Lemon Grass... all FREE!

Scottish Life magazine features Millport

The Summer 2007 issue of Scottish Life magazine had a long feature article about Millport. It focussed on traditional atmosphere of bygone days that can still be found here and was very complimentary.
