The Millport CalendarAnnual EventsSunday 22nd June 2008 — Cumbrae Chaos CyclingCycle races event organised by TLI Cycling and the Glasgow Road Club. Event 1: Time Trial, around the island 10 miles, starts at 11.00am opposite the Ritz Cafe. The Scottish National Champion Arthur Doyle will be there as will the Island record holder James Cusick. Event is open to everyone! Event 2: Veterans only road race, 35 miles, Starting at 2pm and covering around 35 miles. This mass start road race event will start outside the Ritz Cafe and finish in the West Bay. See the TLI Cycling website for further details Saturday 5th July 2008 — National Centre Cumbrae Open Day National Centre Cumbrae Open Day is on Saturday the 5th of July, from 10am until 5pm. All are welcome (children must be accompanied by an adult) Free sailing sessions, powerboat rides, prize draws. Course discounts available on the day. Safety demonstrations. Tour of facilities including New gym available to the community. Visit the Cumbrae National Centre website 29th—31st August 2008 — 14th Millport Country & Western Festival Details will be published on the Festival website as they become available. Saturday 27th September 2008 — Millport Illuminations Spend the September Weekend in Millport and see the Millport Illuminations on Saturday night. Lots of fun events over the weekend. Cathedral of the Isles EventsThe breaks normally start with tea on day 1 and conclude after breakfast on the final day. The residential charge covers full board and all events. For most of the breaks there is also the possibility of non-residential participation. A few bursaries are also available.
