Cumbrae is a haven for wildlife of all sorts. There are seals in Millport Bay; there are rabbits, ferrets, hedgehogs, voles, lizards, newts, and even a unique breed of Cumbrae mouse. Winged wildlife include buzzards, kestrels, tawny owls, doves, ravens, and fulmars. Some claim as many as 9 different types of orchid can be found.
